Friesian Horses

While they are most known for the impressive team of black Clydesdale horses, Pirongia Clydesdales also owns a striking pair of Dutch Friesian horses that are available for weddings and events. The Friesian horse is a new breed in New Zealand, and Nick and Jill are proud to boast the country's first driven pair. The breed is known for its jet black colouring and noble appearance, making it a popular choice for use in period films such as Pride and Prejudice.

Already the Friesians have been highly successful in carriage driving competition and are admired everywhere they appear. The van der Sandes look forward to bringing these magnificent horses to your event.
